Hollywood Huntsville is a Casting Office. 

We cast feature films, short films, student films, commercials, industrials (training videos), PSAs (public service announcements), music videos, live theatre, voice over.  You name it.  No job is too big or too small.  If you need talent, we can help you find them—from local students to regional theatre actors to top professionals with Broadway and movie credits.  We cast everyone from babies to senior citizens.

We have established relationships with more than 50 top agencies in the industry.

 

For local content creators, this means you do not have to ask your friend’s cousin’s spouse if they know someone who might be willing to stand in front of a camera for a few seconds and then hope they show up and don’t stink.  You can get professionally trained actors who show up on time, with clothing choices, with their material prepared, and with a positive, upbeat attitude ready to go.

 

Ayoka Billions, co-owner of Hollywood Huntsville, is our Casting Director of record.  She has a keen eye for talent and human behavior.  She has been a people watcher her whole life.  She is also a professionally trained actress, acting teacher, and veteran producer.  She is on track to join the Casting Society of America (CSA) when she has completed her requirements.  Bill Billions and Ayoka Billions can each cast projects by themselves, and together they make an incredible team.

 

The Bill Billions Studio

 

We have a 1,500-square-foot stand-alone building dedicated to casting & teaching.  It includes a lobby & restroom for talent; a large studio space with couches for CDs, producers, & directors; a professional camera, lights, & large-screen TV; a Green Room with a private restroom, craft services, & video village for private viewing; and a front office & classroom.  We have Wi-Fi and ample parking and are located right off a freeway exit.

 

We hold auditions live, on tape, & on Skype.  We can upload footage privately to Phanfair or other sites for viewing from any location.  We can also provide DVD copies of audition footage.

 

We have direct relations with the top agencies in the South, including Tennessee, the Carolinas, Georgia, Florida, Louisiana, & Texas.  We also have relations with top agencies in Los Angeles.  We draw talent with extensive Broadway, film, & television backgrounds.  We can provide directors with people who fit their choices, and we can come up with choices that you may not have thought about.

 

Talent come to us.  We have had them drive from a 12-state radius, as far as 12 hours away.  Many of them are people you know from Los Angeles who are now living in the South.

 

Music Video – Manchester Orchestra, “Simple Math”

 

In February Sony Music hired Hollywood Huntsville to provide casting for a music video for their band Manchester Orchestra and its song “Simple Math.”  The video was produced by Gaetano Crupi and directed by The Daniels.  Hollywood Huntsville held casting at The Bill Billions Studio.  Caleb Wimberly, Lexi Williams, and Jim Zielinski booked starring roles.

 

“Simple Math” won both the Video of the Year Award and the Best Indie/Rock Video–International Award at the 2011 UK Music Video Awards.  It was nominated for two MTV Video Music Awards, for Best Editing and Best Special Effects.  The video was named by one critic as “the best music video I’ve seen thus far in 2011.”

Feature Film – Hell and Mr. Fudge

 

Hollywood Huntsville was hired by Hollywood producer Jeffrey Cordone to provide regional principal casting for the feature film Hell and Mr. Fudge, which shot June 15 to July 1 in Athens, Alabama.  Casting began in late April and ran through the end of May.  We worked with 56 talent agents in the Southeast and received submissions from thousands of actors, many of whom had Broadway, television, and major film credits.

Hollywood casting director Craig Campobasso came and spent ten days with us, as we held auditions at The Bill Billions Studio.  Actors came from Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia, Mississippi, Florida, Louisiana, South Carolina, North Carolina, & Virginia, some driving more than ten hours each way to read with us.  Additionally, we held Skype auditions with actors in Texas and California.

The competition was strong.  In some cases, we had five or six actors who could have each carried a given role, making the choice for that role one of director preference.  The final cast was especially strong with no weak link in the group.

 

Hollywood Huntsville was then hired to provide Extras Casting and Extras Wrangling for the film.  Some days required more than one hundred extras.

 

Feature Film – Smile as Big as the Moon

 

The feature film Smile as Big as the Moon recently shot a few scenes at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center.  As most of the film was shot in North Carolina, principal casting was held there.  However, Hollywood Huntsville provided the stand-in for leading actor John Corbett as well as extras.  We also provided our hair & make-up artists Breanna Grissett and Janae Burnside as Key Hair and Hair Stylist respectively.

Feature Film – Dog Fight

 

Ryan Glorioso provided regional casting for the feature film Dog Fight.  The film is directed by Jay Roach and stars Will Ferrell, Zach Galifianakis, Dylan McDermott, Brian Cox, John Lithgow, & Jason Sudeikis.  It is scheduled to be released in 2012.

 

In October Hollywood Huntsville assisted with booking of one of the roles.  We hosted veteran Huntsville actor Danny Vinson at The Bill Billions Studio and held taped & Skype sessions between him, Mr. Glorioso, and Mr. Roach.  Mr. Vinson booked the role of Elder Dan and can be seen in the film when it is released next year.

What is the difference between a Casting Director and a Talent Agent?

 

Talent Agents are hired by actors and paid a percentage of what the actor gets when the actor books a job.  Talent Agents do not make any money until the actor books the job.

 

Casting Directors are hired by producers and paid a set fee to cast a project.  Casting Directors get paid that fee regardless of which actor books the job.

 

We are Casting Directors.  Our job is to find you talent.  We contact the Talent Agents for you.  If you are a local ad agency or producer, you may be used to calling on everyone you know who might know someone, hoping to get a good referral.  We eliminate your need to do that.  Simply hire us and we will do the work for you.

 

We have access to the agents and access to the actors.  We know who the professional actors are and how to find them.  We do not ask our friend’s cousin’s spouse.  We go directly to the source.
